About My Practice

Practising yoga since 2009, 

Bhavana decided to study Yoga with deeper intensity and passion since 2015. Bhavana did not feel the need to continue with her corporate job of 15 years as she wanted to give more time to study Yoga. Bhavana completed her teacher training at the Sivananda Ashram in Kerala in 2015. She stayed at Pune for a month and studied Yoga at RIMYI in 2016 and went for a repeat study in 2018.
She now continues to practice Iyengar yoga as a student feeling a strong connection to the methods which encourage practitioners to perform asanas in a safe and effective way using the assistance of props. 

Her tireless self practice regime, her passion and her discipline has helped Bhavana to develop into an insightful teacher. Her learning has not stopped as she continues to now study with master teachers like Firooza Ali Razvi and has attended classes and workshops with many senior teachers like Prashant Iyengar, Geeta Iyengar, Jawahar Bangera, Siddharth Bangera, Zubin Zartoshtimanesh, Usha Devi, Manouso Manos.

Group Classes

Bhavana conducts regular weekly classes around the Bandra area of Mumbai. Her group classes focus on alignment and help students to explore and discover a wide variety of asanas in a safe and supportive environment. As a teacher her aim is help students to develop their practice and to strengthen their connection to the physical body. 

Classes are open to students of all ability levels, from absolute beginners to advanced practitioners.

Yoga Retreats

Yoga retreats offer students the opportunity to become fully immersed in their practice without any of the distractions of their hectic daily schedules.

Take time out to reconnect with your body, disconnect from the pressures and strains of modern life and feel the mental and physical benefits of daily yoga classes, healthy balanced meals and beautiful natural surroundings.

Whether you are a director of a large team in a multi-national company, or managing a small team of professionals, Bhavana's workshop for corporates will allow your employees the chance to reconnect with their bodies, reflect and recharge.
The workshop includes yoga asana practice alongside talks on diet and stress relief. This will not only improve the health and wellbeing by teaching them techniques they can continue to practice at home, but will also improve their productivity and efficiency in the workplace.

Childrens Classes

"I wish I started Yoga when I was a child" is what we all feel when we begin to practice Yoga regularly. This is the reason why every parent must encourage their children to join a yoga class.


Alongside being a teacher, Bhavana is a devoted student and is pursuing an ongoing journey of discovery and further education. Bhavana has attended the following courses:
